SANDALS NEGRIL - OUR PADI CERTIFICATION EXPERIENCE

We arrived home safely from a wonderful week long vacation at Sandals Negril and wanted to let you know that service in all areas of our stay was excellent, in terms of food, hotel accommodations and housekeeping.  However it was our interactions throughout the week with your highly skilled PADI Dive Team that made this one of our best holidays ever.

Our initial intent was for me to simply obtain my Open Water certification, having completed part of the training here in Calgary in December 2007.  We showed up to the resort PADI Dive Shop Sunday, February 3rd @ 9 AM, with Breaker advising that I could start my certification dives with Emron at 9:30 AM.  Emron provided outstanding instruction in a very organized, but relaxed manner and I was successful in completing the Open Water certification by the next day.  To be honest, I was not confident that diving was for me, but the whole experience of being on the boat, part of such a great group, meeting other people and seeing the beautiful underwater environment changed my mind after my first ocean dive.

Emron encouraged me to consider the Advanced course and also my husband (a long time diver) to consider the Rescue Diver course.  Having been so impressed with our diving experience thus far, we each made the decision to pursue these classes and were very impressed with Emron's high level of expertise which allowed us each to successfully complete these courses, making us better divers and our diving experience that much more rewarding.

The staff we were most involved with included Emron, Josh, Diesel, Macki (who came on both night dives), Wayne, "Captain" and Breaker.  Each of them showed incredible service/instruction, professionalism and a true passion for diving, that was easily captured by all of the guests on board and I feel confident saying that everyone was equally impressed with their experiences in a number of areas:

- Equipment set-up all done promptly for dive departure and in excellent working order, with assistance from staff as needed

- Captain and staff consistently organized timely and safe departure/arrival for each dive with great attention to detail, having fresh fruit/juice after the dives was truly a treat!

- A clean organized boat and gear made it so easy to learn proper diving protocol

- All staff on board took great care in choosing dive sites, specific to the needs of each guest as many were on different courses &/or had varying levels of experience.  On one particular dive, Josh made certain to bring other groups out to see a cool Nurse shark they saw on the first dive of the morning to ensure we all got that privilege

- A true team approach was seen between the staff with camaraderie, energy and a positive attitude over the 14 dives during the week.  This enabled the guests on board to really get to know each other, making our stay at Sandals Negril truly memorable and allowed us to meet friends we will for sure keep in touch with. We found running into other divers throughout the resort felt like a 'family', rather than feeling isolated in our vacation

I'm sure you already recognize the contributions that the PADI Dive Team at Sandals Negril make to your incredible resort, but we felt it was important to take a moment to pass along our sincere appreciation for this experience.  We look forward to seeing you in future!

Sincerely,

Audra Baldwin
