Effectively, since the Alberta and British Columbia provincial government's have adopted legislation (PIPA) that is substantially similar to PIPEDA, Travel Time will apply the provincial privacy rules to your personal information. When we disclose your personal information inter-provincially and internationally, we will apply the PIPEDA rules.

You may have recently received a copy of our revised Privacy Policy and a PIPEDA consent form.

The majority of the travel suppliers that we do business with on your behalf are outside the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia. Hence, the PIPEDA discloser rule applies. Under the PIPEDA rules we are required to gain your consent in order to continue to disclose your personal information. Therefore, completion of the consent form is required for us to continue providing travel services to you and should be completed by each family member of legal age. You may provide consent on behalf of your children.

Additionally, the PIPA guidelines provide a Grandfathering clause. The Act considers personal information collected by Travel Time before January 1, 2004 as collected with consent. We may continue to use and disclose your personal information intra-provincially, but only for the purpose it was collected. We will require new consent to be provided explicitly in writing or verbally, to use and disclose your personal information for any unrelated purposes. Therefore, completion of the consent form is required for us if we undertake new services on your behalf.
